About AIEM
Serving immigrant communities since 1986, in East Montréal

The essentials
For nearly 40 years, the Accueil aux immigrants de l’Est de Montréal (AIEM) has supported immigrants and their families throughout their settlement and integration journey in Québec. Rooted in East Montréal, AIEM is a community-based organization offering free, human-centered services adapted to the realities of newcomers.

Who we are
Our mission
To support and contribute to the socio-economic integration of immigrants and visible minorities so that they may become full members of the host society.
An organization evolving since 1986
Founded in 1986 under the name Accueil aux immigrants de Saint-Léonard, in close connection with the Société Saint-Vincent-de-Paul, the organization initially supported refugees from Central America, including El Salvador, Chile, and Guatemala.
In 2005, it became Accueil aux immigrants de l’Est de Montréal, reflecting the expansion of its territorial reach.
In 2014, AIEM obtained ministerial accreditation, strengthening its role as a reference organization for welcome and integration in East Montréal.
In 2026, AIEM will celebrate its 40th anniversary, marking four decades of commitment to immigrant individuals and families.
