A strong advocate for the French language in Québec, Accueil aux immigrants de l’Est de Montréal (AIEM) is a mandated organization of the Ministère de l’Immigration, de la Francisation et de l’Intégration (MIFI).
Part-time French classes are taught by MIFI teachers and are part of Québec’s official francization program. Courses are offered at AIEM’s head office, in Saint-Léonard and Rivière-des-Prairies, at Jean-Grou Secondary School.

Who are the part-time classes for ?
Part-time classes are intended for individuals aged 16 or older who live in Québec, hold an immigration status other than tourist, and have completed at least 9 years of schooling.
This program is designed for people born outside Canada.

Course content and levels
The part-time French courses offered by the Ministère de l’Immigration, de la Francisation et de l’Intégration (MIFI) at AIEM are beginner and intermediate levels. They help you improve both spoken and written French.
Course organization
There are four sessions per year. Each session lasts 11 weeks. Courses are 3 hours per day, offered 2, 3 or 4 days per week, depending on level and schedule.
Schedules at the AIEM centre
Morning: Monday to Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Afternoon: Monday to Thursday, 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Evening: Monday to Wednesday, 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Weekend: Saturday and Sunday, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

choose the part-time option, and select AIEM as your learning organization.
