Key points

ICI-Health (ICI = Intercultural Community Worker) is a free community support service offered by AIEM. It helps immigrants better understand Québec’s health system, access appropriate services, and receive support in vulnerable situations, through personalized and non-medical guidance.

Human and adapted support

Navigating the health system can be difficult when arriving in Québec. ICI-Health helps reduce language, cultural, and administrative barriers by offering community support that respects the realities of immigrants.

AIEM’s intercultural community workers act as a link between people and health and social services to make the system easier to understand and to support autonomy.

How AIEM can help you with ICI-Health

Depending on your situation, the service may include:

  • Orientation to appropriate resources
  • Support with certain steps to access services
  • Support in vulnerable or complex situations
  • Collaboration with other community services or AIEM services

Note: ICI-Health is community support. It does not replace health professionals and includes no medical acts.
