Objective Integration is a free 24-hour session that helps immigrants understand Québec democratic values, cultural codes, and the legal framework of work in Québec. It provides an official recognized certificate and financial assistance of $230, under certain conditions.

An essential service for your integration pathway in Québec

At Accueil aux immigrants de l’Est de Montréal (AIEM), we support immigrants during key steps of their integration. 

The Objective Integration session is an important step to better understand Québec society, support your integration, and meet requirements linked to certain immigration programs leading to permanent residence. 

This session is for immigrants with an intermediate level of French who want to prepare for civic and professional life in Québec. 

What is the Objective Integration session for?

The session helps you to: 

  • better understand Québec democratic values expressed in the Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms 
  • become familiar with cultural codes at work 
    understand the legal framework of work in Québec 
  • obtain an official certificate, valid for two years 
    meet requirements related to obtaining the Québec Selection Certificate (CSQ), when applicable

Session content (24 hours)

The session is divided into three sections: 

Section 1 — Diversity and adaptation in Québec

Section 2 — Five keys to better understand Québec

Section 3 — The world of work in Québec

The session is offered in French only and takes place in a structured and interactive setting.

Who is the session for?

You must: 

  • be 18 years old or older 
  • live in Québec 
  • have an intermediate level of French 

Eligible statuses :  

  • naturalized Canadian citizen 
  • permanent resident 
  • eligible temporary resident 
  • temporary worker (1 year or more) 
  • international student (6 months or more) 
  • protected person (asylum granted) 
  • person invited by MIFI to apply for permanent selection

Certificate and official recognition

After completing the Objective Integration session, you will receive an official certificate showing your knowledge of Québec democratic values. 

This certificate is recognized by the ministère de l’Immigration, de la Francisation et de l’Intégration (MIFI) and is valid for two years. 

Financial assistance — $230

Financial assistance of $230 may be granted if you: 

  • attend the entire session 
  • meet eligibility conditions 
  • have a valid SIN, NII, or NIT 
  • This assistance is paid once per person and is taxable.
